     About us...

Bubbles Kent is a not-for-profit Community Interest Group providing aquatic interventions for all ages, abilities, and needs. We provide specialist teaching, coaching, therapies and targeted interventions to support integration and enjoyment of water for individuals finding mainstream environments challenging.

Our motto is “achieving potential without limitation” and we are proud to have supported hundreds of swimmers to embrace their differences and achieve beyond their expectations.

For over twenty years, we have developed a methodology that centres on peer support, mentoring and engagement, where swimmers are not always grouped by ability but by social, behavioural and communicative dynamic. Older swimmers become our volunteer Peer Mentors providing essential encouragement, skill sharing and opportunities to socialise. Peer Mentors can then formalise their role and become paid Aquatic Assistants, continuing their professional development in swimming teaching with expert guidance from our teachers and tutor.

Swimmers benefit from a dedicated pathway into Kent Disability Swimming Squad with opportunities to experience routes into Special Olympics, Paralympics and disability specific galas.

We are proud to provide; Autism Swim accredited lessons, providing essential risk prevention and safe swim training for those for whom water can be a risky enticement; Aquatic Physiotherapy for those requiring a space to develop and implement hydrotherapy plans for rehabilitation and ongoing strength and conditioning and; the Aquaphobia programme for those ready to face their fears.
